The wedding ceremony is the most significant and meaningful part of your wedding day.
Whether you are planning a religious or civil ceremony, one thing is certain and that is that this will be a moment captured in time, when both of you can express before your loved ones, the passionate love and commitment you share for one another.
There are many ways to add magic to your ceremony. A wedding singer, church bells, a harpist playing to your guests before you arrive, or a choir are just some suggestions.
If you are planning a religious ceremony, you may be required to undertake some religious instruction or pre-marital counselling several months prior to your nuptials.
Civil ceremonies are enormously popular in Australia as they allow couples the freedom to express their feelings about their philosophy on marriage and life, in a way that is meaningful to them. There is scope for enormous individuality and creativity in a civil ceremony. The only legal requirement is that you must publicly exchange vows.
The meeting point between a religious ceremony and a civil ceremony is a chaplaincy service. For those traditionalists at heart , who would enjoy being married in inspiring surroundings with a Christian blessing, but would like the opportunity to personalise their vows, a non denominational service performed by a chaplain is an option. The law requires that one prayer and one reading from the Scriptures be incorporated into the ceremony, but beyond that allows couples, as with a civil ceremony, the opportunity to use their imagination to introduce song, poetry....
